Mental Health Support Services Brisbane
MyCare Living provides mental health NDIS support services.
MyCare takes the time to fully educate ourselves about the person’s specific condition and needs, to better understand their experiences and find the best ways to support them.
Our team focuses on the respect of people’s boundaries so that in time we can develop trust with each other, so that people would be more accepting of receiving support.
Our aim is to provide a safe and supportive environment where people feel heard and feel safe.
Giving emotional support when necessary and giving space when required is a fine balance approach to different individuals.
What Our Positive Behaviour Support Plan Includes
MyCare works in with health professionals and stakeholders in the client’s team so that the client receives the correct information and client updates regularly and provide accurate data for anyone on a Positive Behaviour Support Plan (BPSP).
The MyCare team involves and includes our clients in developing their care plans and daily routines, and the goals they want to achieve. Our team gets to know the person’s likes/dislikes and interests, health-related requirements, social engagements, and other essential components of a healthy meaningful life. Then we carefully select suitable staff members with the right attributes to join the team.
When necessary, MyCare works and collaborate with other stakeholders, family members, health professionals, and decision-makers regarding the client’s health and well-being.
When it comes to helping someone reach their goals, the approach our team takes is to involve the person in their goal-making process, to acknowledge and understand people’s goals and aspirations, setting a realistic plan of action and steps to achieving that goal. Then we break down those steps on per shift basis, to gradually and consistently work towards achieving those steps and track our process along the way.
MyCare Living keep stats so that the client and the professional team can see the progress. The Goal of the person are divided into months, weeks, and into per shift, which means when a support staff signs into work they would know what the objective and goal for today’s shift is.
The MyCare Living team has worked with people who live with an ABI, severe brain injury, people who are paralysed from the waist down and have spinal cord injuries from the neck down, and depending on the severity of the injury, our trained team can assist with bowel therapies as well.
To maintain quality assurance, our management team including our Team Leaders continuously monitor the support team’s performance, ensuring staff members have comprehensive training, know the client routines and support needs, and run regular team meetings/training sessions to ensure everyone on the team has the most updated knowledge of the client.
